While any surgical procedure can involve discomfort, we use effective anaesthesia and sedation techniques to minimise pain. Most patients report less discomfort than anticipated and quick recovery times.

We recommend regular check-ups every six months, but this can vary based on individual dental health needs.

Try to limit how much sugary foods your children are eating and make sure they are brushing their teeth well. To ensure they are brushing well use an electric toothbrush, and the correct toothpaste. Toe ensure this is being done correctly, bring your children in for a regular preventive care appointment with our amazing team to ensure their teeth are in their best condition. This combination of correct brushing, eating good healthy food and regular cleaning at the dentist will give your children the teeth they will want as adults.

The ideal time for your child to meet the dentist is six months after their first teeth arrive. This gives your dentist a perfect opportunity to carefully examine the development of their mouth and catch problems such as baby bottle tooth decay, teething irritations and prolonged thumb-sucking early.

Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to enter at the back of your mouth. They typically arrive between the ages of 17 and 25. Occasionally, though, they find their way out much later than that or never arrive at all. The reason: most of our jaws only have room for 28 teeth; we have 32. This means when the last teeth arrive, the wisdom teeth, they have nowhere to go. This means they may need removal to maintain optimum dental health if causing pain or other issues. General rule, if they are partially out, they likely need to go!

If you are not in any pain then ring the dentist as soon as possible and make an appointment, but try and keep the tooth as clean as possible and avoid biting hard on that tooth. If you have pain, then you will need to go to your dentist immediately as an emergency.

Gum disease is a dental disease that exhibits symptoms of bleeding, swelling and some pain. This is mainly caused by poor oral hygiene and bacteria from food that has not been removed from between the teeth. This bacteria attacks the gums and then causes the loss of bone holding your teeth in place. If left untreated the teeth will begin to fall out or need to be extracted. This is known as periodontal disease. We can remedy gum disease/periodontal disease with a simple hygiene regime.

You shouldn’t feel embarrassed by your teeth! Your confidence and your dental health can be adversely affected by chipped and stained teeth. Most people would opt for better, more attractive smile if given the opportunity. Think of it like this: Composite is plastic, but there are different grades. It's generally weaker than porcelain. However, if done correctly, we can create results that mimic the natural tooth in strength and aesthetics. Generally, it is cheaper, easier to fix and requires no tooth reduction!

Porcelain on the other hand, is like glass, stronger, and lasts longer. Generally more expensive, and requires tooth reduction for optimal strength and aesthetics.  With lab involvement, results are more predictable, tried and test. Very well suited for teeth that are worn and broken down.
